Membrane researh -Nametech

As a part of the EU financed research project Nametech, aimed to develop functionalized membranes for advanced water treatment applications, I contributed by fabricating and upscaling a LbL-engineered membrane module prototype being tested later by Pentair for treatment of surface water. Simple modifications on microfiltration membranes made them function as ultrafiltration membranes though with a higher flux. The same was valid for ultrafiltration membranes which were modified and ended up showing the similar rejection results as unmodified nanofiltration membranes.
